Jorge Pierola´s Presentation: Slang

My classmate Jorge, presented a good topic in his presentation was about the "Slang".

Jorge started his presentation asked us what we know about slang, what is the meaning, what is the use, what is/are in general the slang term, after that, Jorge gave us a definition about the Slang term, he uses information from pedagogical resources, writers, etc.

Jorge made a good activity, he presented some slangs ans we had to gave the correct use in a good way with a correct definition.

In my opinion Jorge made a good presentation, it was not a microlesson, just was a presentation, without presentation of the theme, body and conclusion, was poor, honestly speaking was not a good presentation, some times was not clear, despite of was enjoyable.

Teachers strike from public schools

Nowadays, Public School system in Chile is not working properly, because some of our future colleagues are in strike, why?

Because they are fighting the SAE Bond: “Strike follows until the government pay the Teachers”, Only the commitment of the payment, of the totality of the debt of the bond of Subvención Adicional Especial (SAE) to the teachers, will be the measurement that will finishes with the mobilizations that have been having without classes the students of all the country.

In my opinion I think that teachers are good, just they are trying to be made respect by the government who promised to pay the historical debt and the SAE bond and that not yet takes shape, I think that it is a good way to brake the abuses on the part of the government. Ethically speaking I think that is not a good idea to stop the classes, but I think that humanly speaking we cannot continue that this happens.

In my opinion if the strike will continue just the student will have to pay the consequences they will have to continue studying on vacations, is not fair for them to pay by adult errors or not?

Juan´s Presentation: Sport in education

Juan started his debate asking us some questions regarding to his theme, My classmate formed two big groups, he divided our class into 2 groups, Juan gave us advices how to participate in a debate.

In my opinion Juan´s presentation was not a Microlesson, the real idea of our teacher was create a Microlesson not a debate or something like that, Juan´s debate was clear, it was good but sometimes it was boring, just questions, answers, opinions, was not more than that.

Yhincy´s Presentation

My classmate Yhincy presented a pertinent theme, was about stress....

Before Yhincy started her presentation, she stuck some cartoons in the walls of our classroom, she asked us many times if we knew or not words that appears in the cartoons, Yhincy defined every word that we supposed did not know.

My classmate showed us the most important characteristics of stressful in the students, what were the symptom, what were the signs of stress (physical-conductual-sicological).

Yhincy also asked a pertinent question..... how can teachers support their students?

some of us answered her question gave her typical answers like: emotional support, informative support, evaluative support.

In my opinion Yhincy´s presentation was good, I think that was a pertinent theme, was clear, she used in a good way the classroom space, she moves around, she uses her Body Language in a good way, also Yhincy used clearly the PPT Presentation, she asked us many times during her presentation, was a good instance to talk and give opinions related to her presentation.

Body Language

YAra´s presentation is about The Body Language, my classmate started hr presentation asking us some question regarding to her topic, Yara explained us what is the meaning of "Body Language", she used some examples (pictures) and her power point presentation, we could find examples into her PPT where images describes people doing gestures and tried to demonstrate or explain that they want to said.

Yara asked us: how show be the Body Language of a teacher? some of us answered her question and participated in her presentation, Yara gave us some tips regarding to how to be a good teacher using B.L.

Yara also used a video trying to demonstrate and explain the use of B.L, according that, Yara did not use gestures in her presentation, she did not move around the classroom, was a bad example of her presentation.

Less words more actions

Eduardo`s presentation was a good way to introduce us to be a good teachers, because eduardo tried to gave us information about Programs, example:
Innocien includes 10 municipal-type schools, private subsidized and paid particular. The main focus , intervention and certification on the basis of this network of excellence scalable best practices and educational processes are sustainable over time will be structured as follows: 20 new schools by 2009, 30 more schools by 2010 and 40 more for the 2011, so as to achieve the goal of 100 stores operating Innova100 over Chile in 2011.
Eduardo showed us a video related to a program which is performed by students and English-speaking students in the Jose Toribio Medina school, located in ñuñoa, where they used passport, money like dollar, the importance of this activity is that nobody can speak Spanish, I think..... is the best way to learn and live in English.
According to Eduardo`s presentation I have to say was clear, he moves around the classroom, the PPT was clear, Eduardo`s speech was good, he uses a good tone of voice, he uses a lot of audiovisual material to engage us in his presentation.
