Five Minds for the 21st. Century

Howard Gardner

Important psicologist, he published theories about intelligences:

The first, is acquiring a disciplined mind, talks about to solving problems in any area.

The second, is the synthesizing mind, a mind able to collect, talks about a mind who is able to collect information from disparate sources and put ideas together in ways that makes sense to the learner.

The Third, is the creative mind, a mind capable of breaking new statements, developing new ideas and asking new questions, talks about innovation, creativity, originality, garder said that we have to be able to be creative.

The Fourth, is the respectful mind, a mind that recognizes differences between individuals, groups and cultures; one that learns to appreciate a sense of others, talks about us, as a human individuals, we have to be respectful in front others.

The final mind is the ethical mind which considers how students can serve purposes beyond self interest, talks about when you can share despite of differences, talks about people who helps someone without reward.

In my opinion, the presentation was more or less, because my classmate Jorge, not included pictures in their power point presentation, despite of the jorges´s topic that he presented was interesting, but Jorge was standing up in front of the class without movements, just speaking, doing nothing else, he does not used the body language, I think that jorge could be do the best presentation in onther oportunity.

HOw to educate Bilingual Children???

Our society is working on that, trying to form bilingual people now...

Attempts are being made to introduce English to Chile as a second language, that attemps are being made to introduce a second language into our society, and English is top of the list of these second languages.....

My classmates at university presented this important topic in a class presentation. The girls presented clearly some of the most important ways to encourage children to become bilingual, for example bringing the children on trips to locations where their second language is being, showing movies in English and reading books in English. The girls talked in their presentation about the advantages and disadvantages of bilingualism, and also about the myth of bilingualism.

I would say … What I can do as a teacher to help children become bilingual???

Multilingualism....????

Multilingualism????

Fortunately we are working as society in this theme, because in Chile a huge group of foreign people are arriving everyday....

We have to know more about their culture, It is important to know more than others because this behavior opens the door for a multicultural society, thanks my classmates (Yara-Paula and Kuki) we knew more about that, because in their presentation, the girls showed us the definition about the topic, the most common representation into a society about the multilingualism.

About the main idea into their topic, I think that the use of the Power Point Presentation was good, the girls tried to show us easily the topic, the use of the tone of voice, was clear, the girls show us a clear dominion of the subject that they presented.

Multiple Intelligences

A group of classmates (Evelyn-Daniela-Yhinci) talked about that topics....

It was an interesting topic, I was forgotten multiple intelligences described by gardner, despite of that we were working on the minor subject.

The presentation of my classmates helping myself to reinforce the topic.

Analytically speaking my classmates talked about every single one of the multiple intelligences, the girls defined them, is but, they were dedicated to give concrete examples trying to be more understandable their presentation, the power point presentation were clear and direct, their speech was very clearly.

I really like their presentation, I think that were clear and understandable, the domain of the topic was good.

The Clockwork Orange

This week I watched a movie....

The Clockwork Orange (1971), directed by Stanley Kubrick, is a satirical science fiction film adaptation of the 1962 novel A Clockwork Orange, by Anthony Burguess.

When I was watching the movie, I felt so weird, because the film showed a lot of violence, psychological violence, the main character Alex showed an special interest of music, specially Beethoven, when he was listening songs about the musician, his hidden feelings arose and let glimpse a young rapist, extremely aggressive and without consciousness.....

Finally Alex, the main character, is arrested and taken to jail, there Alex is psychologically punished by the government and is cured of the disease, according to goverment was product of the drug consumption and the delinquency. After that Alex is set free and tries to amend the errors of the past. Actually the movie was disgusting, I felt unconfortable.

Are You Happy???

My answer is absolutely yes!!!

Because I am breathing, I can see the mountain every day when I Wake up..... I feel alive.

Could be you are thinking... that guy is drugged or drunk, but I feel good living my life, doing wherever I want, I have a great family, I feel lucky to have alive my relatives.

Sometimes I feel alone, without my twin-soul, in that oportunity I am not happy.... but in my free time I feel happy, this is the most important thing that I want, my friends are one of the most important part of my life, because without them,I can not feel the real meaning of the name love and happiness.

BullYing @ School

My classmates (Camilo and Romina) presented a real and hard topic, Bullying at school, they started their presentation with a game, a good game, they tried to catched our attention using that game, was a good idea, the game was:

1° Camilo and Romina gave us the instructions and then they devided the class into 2 grups.

2° After the instructions, the groups had to take the leaves from some newspapers and had to begin to make balls of paper.

3° We had to begin to throw the paper balls to us, was a good instance to relax each other.

After that, my classmates started to present the topic, talking about that, they gave us examples, definitions, whats happens if we are in that situation with our student, a kind of recomendations.
