Billy Elliot

Billy Elliot is a shy boy, living with his proud miner father and older brother Tony during the political and social unrest of the 1984 miner's strike. Times are hard the men of the house spend their days on the picket lines clashing with the police, while Billy navigates the minefield of adolescence and takes care of his increasingly senile grandmother.

His life change when he met Mrs. Wilkinson, whose teach dance in a Box Gym, where Billy try to learn boxing….Billy changes the boxing gloves by the ballet slippers, but the social and familiar surroundings will force to him to do it secretly.

Touching comedy obtained 3 nominations' Oscar and to become the international success of the British cinema in the year 2000.

The movie show us, in a good way a young boy that change his “lifestyle” created by his father by another one, the dance, the movie show us the perseverance that Billy uses to be happy, despite of his father´s opinion.
