The Practice of Happiness, by Tal Ben-Shahar

1. Give yourself permission to be human. When we accept emotions such as fear, sadness, or anxiety as natural, we are more likely to overcome them. Rejecting our emotions, positive or negative, leads to frustration and unhappiness.

2. Happiness lies at the intersection between pleasure and meaning.
Whether at work or at home, the goal is to engage in activities that are both personally significant and enjoyable. When this is not feasible, make sure you have happiness boosters, moments throughout the week that provide you with both pleasure and meaning.

3. Keep in mind that happiness is mostly dependent on our state of mind, not on our status or the state of our bank account. Barring extreme circumstances, our level of well being is determined by what we choose to focus on (the full or the empty part of the glass) and by our interpretation of external events. For example, do we view failure as catastrophic, or do we see it as a learning opportunity?

4. Simplify! We are, generally, too busy, trying to squeeze in more and more activities into less and less time. Quantity influences quality, and we compromise on our happiness by trying to do too much.

5. Remember the mind-body connection. What we do or don't do with our bodies influences our mind. Regular exercise, adequate sleep,  and healthy eating habits lead to both physical and mental health.

6. Express gratitude, whenever possible. We too often take our lives for granted. Learn to appreciate and savor the wonderful things in life, from people to food, from nature to a smile.

Am I a GuarDiAn??

According to Kersey Temperament Sorter I am a Guardian....
Guardian make up as much as 40 to 45 percent of the world population.
Guardian people are the cornerstone of the society, for they are the temperament giving to serving and preserving our most important social Institutions. Guardian have a natural talent in managing goods and services for supervision to maintenance and supply and they use all their skills to keep things running smoothly in their families, communities, schools, churches, hospitals and business.
It was a good experience to know more about my personality, because I never thought before that point.

I felt very well and identified with this description, because that´s me!!!
when the description mention that I am person who have a natural talent in managing goods and services it is definetely true, because I like maintain my room and my home always clean and tidy. I remembered when I was working with my friends (VICARIA DE LA ESPERANZA JOVEN) we  always were guardians doing everything, we were tidy, ordely, honest, methodical, proactive, was a good chance to put im practice my hide talents.

A CoNtrOvERsIal IssUe

Today we were working and talking about our responsabilities as a student with Mr. Litman and one group (Gustavo and Cristobal) presented about the most important murderer in the human history, they were talking about Adolf Hitler, the presentation was good, they showed us an extract of one video refering to Adolf Hiltler, that was only the introduction, because Cristobal started his presentation with Hitler´s biography and then Gustavo presented some important issues about that terrible period of our history.
After that my classmates showed us some pictures where we could see how the Holocaust really was... that was awful, because I do not agree with the idea of killing, just because German Army felt that the rest of the population did not belong to "Their World".
Finally the presentation ended with the teacher´s feedback.

WorKInG WitHouT Mr. LitMaN

Can professional people practice pedagogy without having studies as a teacher ?

That is our issue and I hope that this important fact into the Chilean Society and our profession as a teacher will finish in a good way and the LGE (General Education Law) take into consideration the teaching task for the future practice Pedagogy.
